The Hotmail login page has been moved away from Hotmail.com to the 365 service at Login.Live.com using the Microsoft email servers for online accounts.
Outlook is the newest brand and syncs with other services like OneDrive and Office for personal mail with inbox folders and organization tools.
Upgraded users go to https://login.live.com/login.srf where you will enter your original Hotmail login information in the Microsoft Outlook fields presented on the official page.
The fields require your email address as a username and a valid password to be entered before authentication starts. You will be taken to your check your messages if the action is successful.
A wrong or password that you forgot will need to be reset with the tool found at the bottom of this page in our resources to be granted a single use code for temporary access.
Outlook works with your Hotmail login the same way and with the same credentials that you had before. The new 365 portal will send social updates and new mail messages to your inbox.
Change your @hotmail.com to @outlook.com with a alias to take advantage of all the latest features from Microsoft. You will find the setting under your profile account.
Unlike the retired version of mail, Outlook Live runs on your iPhone, Android, and Windows phones from anywhere you have a online connection. Inbox storage has a large 15 GB of space to keep your messages stored on OneDrive.
Tasks moved from Hotmail are email printing, replying or forwarding to friends, spell check, compose a new mail, attachments, keyboard shortcuts, folder management, and migrated contacts from your original list.
Support for Yahoo, Gmail, and Xbox Live make the transition from the older layout the same on a Windows PC, mobile phone, tablet, or laptop computer with single sign on.
A user account that has not checked email before their Hotmail login was migrated to Outlook can filter new messages by tapping view and then unread messages to see what has arrived on their inbox since they logged in last.
