SEVIS Login Page

The SEVIS login page on eGov.ICE.gov is the Student and Exchange Visitor Program that is used to find the latest information and resources for students.

As a program within the U.S. Immigration and Customs agency, the web accessible database for monitoring information about exchange visitors is hosted online.

Begin using the SEVIS login at https://egov.ice.gov/sevis/ and complete the user name and password fields to be authenticated on the system.

Registered and approved account holders are only permitted to use the system. Problems logging in to SEVIS should be directed to the forgot password tool located on the login page or by contacting the help desk at the 1-800-892-4829 phone number.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program provides automated capabilities that support the F (academic) and M (vocational) students visiting the country.

Any visiting student is to be registered in the web based system so that it provides tracking and monitoring functionality, with access to accurate and current information.

It has been setup as a U.S. government database that allows schools and federal immigration agencies to exchange data on the status of international students online.

To study in the States, a regulation requires all prospective F and M students to pay the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System SEVIS login fee.

Website support includes a tutorial with a step-by-step guide of the required payment process for the I-901 Fee, including the information you must submit and what to after submission.

It is important to note that unless a student is otherwise exempt, participants must pay a SEVIS I-901 fee. You will need the receipt confirming a payment before you go for the visa interview.

It will be required at this time. Print out the receipt and keep it as proof of payment for when your interview is scheduled. A SEVIS fee is separate from the visa fee you will pay to the embassy or consualte to receive your F-1/J-1 visa.

A SEVIS login is different than the ID required to check the status of a I-901 fee payment. The resources below will assist you further.
